David F. McCormick, MS, CVA
David McCormick is an experienced veterinary practice appraiser and practice management consultant who specializes in exit planning and facilitating successful practice transactions. Member of the Institute of Business Appraisers, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts and a Charter Member of VetPartners, (formerly the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors). Serving as the President (2006) and Secretary (2001-2003), and is currently the Chair of the Nominations Committee and he serves on the VetPartners Valuation Council.
As a speaker/teacher, David has presented at the AVMA, NAVC and WVC meetings and the Southern European Veterinary Conference as well as many other regional and state veterinary management association conferences. Member of the American Animal Hospital Association’s faculty team teaching their Veterinary Management School, Level 1. The practice management program coordinator for the Western Veterinary Conference 2011- 2017 meetings. He held a similar position for the AVMA’s 2003-2007 National Conventions.
Larry McCormick, DVM, MBA, CBA
Dr. McCormick practiced small animal medicine and surgery following graduation from Iowa State University in 1967. He owned two AAHA accredited small animal veterinary practices in State College, Pennsylvania. He completed his MBA at Penn State University in 1996. In 1998, he joined in partnership with Dr. Jim Wilson forming the veterinary practice management firm, Priority Veterinary Management Consultants. In 2003, he separated from PVMC and began operating The McCormick Consultant Group and Simmons Mid-Atlantic with his partner and son, David F. McCormick.
Dr. McCormick is an experienced appraiser of veterinary practices. He is accredited as aCertified Business Appraiser by the Institute of Business Appraisers. Dr. McCormick has performed numerous valuation appraisals of veterinary practices and he serves as an expert witness for legal cases involving veterinary practice valuation. He has also been involved in numerous lectures, conference workshops and consultations involving both veterinary management and valuation issues. He is a Charter Member of VetPartners and is the past Chair of the VetPartners Valuation Resource Council. In 2008, he received the Distinguished Life Member award from VetPartners in recognition of his service to the profession in veterinary practice valuation.
Sherry L. Everhart, BS, CVT
Sherry Everhart joined the Simmons Mid Atlantic team in 2008 as a practice appraiser and management consultant. Starting her career as a technician in 1987, she has over 20 years experience in the veterinary field. She has experience in all aspects of practice management including budgeting and financial analysis, inventory management, strategizing for growth and personnel management. Prior to joining Simmons, she was the Hospital Administrator of a corporate owned, full-service, AAHA accredited small animal veterinary hospital. Under her management, she successfully guided the practice through numerous AAHA accreditation renewals and in 2005 earned NVA’s President’s Award for financial performance and outstanding quality medical care.
Sherry earned her B.S. in Accounting from Penn State University in June 2006 with emphasis in corporate financial management and graduating with highest distinction. She earned her A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Harcum College in 1986. She is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers, the Veterinary Hospital Management Association, the National Collegiate of Scholars and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
